Illetas, a small and very exclusive seaside resort, is located almost 30 kilometers west of Palma de Mallorca. Despite the proximity to Palma and the associated advantages, there is hardly any trace of mass tourism. It is only quieter in Cas Catala, the neighboring town to the east. Together, the two places have a population of around 3550, the vast majority of whom live in Illetas. The place is part of the municipality of Clavià, the wealthiest in Mallorca.
