Arta belongs to the Llevant region and is about 60 km from the capital Palma de Mallorca. The Massís d’Artà, which is considered to be the highest massif in the eastern mountain ranges of the Llevant region, makes up over half of the municipal area.
The coast extends over 25 kilometers. About 7,500 people live in the community on an area of approx. 140 km2. The community and especially the valley landscape of the Massís d’Artà are characterized by the cultivation of fig, almond and carob trees.
In addition, the municipality is notable for its extensive uninhabited areas, and olive tree cultures are predominantly found in the mountains.
